walk

It is an easy walk to shops, Union Court, lecture halls, Civic, and the National Botanical Gardens. Buses depart from outside the Hall to all major Town Centres in Canberra. There is secure storage for bicycles.

study

The Hall provides a strong network of pastoral and academic support. Each floor has its own Senior Resident dedicated to the pastoral support of 25 residents. A team of ten Academic Assistants provides effective and experienced help with the transition from high school to university. Two Sub-Deans and the Head of Hall lead the pastoral and academic support teams.

music

Ursula Hall has many talented music students and four rooms are available for music practice.

washer

Ursula Hall has laundry and dryer rooms, these are available to all students and are free of charge. Residents provide their own laundry detergent.

car

A general carpark is located at the rear of the Hall. A multi-storey carpark with designated bays is also available for an extra fee. A University parking permit must be purchased to park on campus. Canberra's network of bike paths and public transport is quite good, so we encourage residents to save money and not bring a car.

rubbish

Students are responsible for cleaning their own rooms. Vacuum cleaners can be borrowed from the Senior Resident. Recycling is strongly encouraged.

smoke

Smoking is prohibited in all University buildings. Designated smoking areas are located outside.

disability

There are a small number of rooms available for students with physical disabilities. Please contact the Hall to discuss your needs.

Ours is an informal community of young people committed to study and learning. Our small size is a great advantage and lends a close-knit, family feel to the Hall. Students are encouraged, but not pushed, into participating in a wide variety of sports and arts activities. Our residents leave with lifelong friendships and a rich and varied student experience at the Australian National University.
