UNDERGRADUATES

There are a number of different accommodation options for Undergraduate students attending ANU. From living on campus in a Hall or College, living more independently in one of our Lodges or choosing to find alternative accommodation off-campus in rental or share accommodation.

Undergraduate Accommodation Guarantee - ANU guarantee new full-time undergraduate students from outside the Canberra region will receive an offer of accommodation to one of the University's student residences.

How to Apply for Accommodation - Students wishing to register for First Semester 2012 need to complete an online application form. Students are asked to list one preferred residence and enter their course and contact details.

Student Residences - There are eleven main residences that provide accommodation for undergraduate students located on or near to campus. The Student Residences page will help you decide which residence is most suited to your needs and requirements and includes information about tariffs and room types.

National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) - As an NRAS approved accommodation provider, The Australian National University, with the support of the ACT Government, provides 1,000+ affordable beds for students. This includes 118 beds in Ursula Hall - Laurus Wing Stages 1A & 2, 491 beds in Warrumbul Lodge and approximately 500 beds opening in Lena Karmel Lodge in time for first semester 2012.

Housing Online - An online accommodation notice board that advertises private rental, share accommodation, private board and accommodation wanted. Properties are located all over Canberra. Very helpful for students looking for accommodation off-campus.

Renting - Helpful tips for students wanting to rent a property off-campus. Information about locations, budgets and dealing with real estate agents. Links to rental websites and the ACT Tenancy Advice Service.

Financial Assistance - ANU provides some assistance to students struggling to cope with rental charges by way of scholarships and bursaries.

Families - For students travelling to Canberra with a family there are a lot of other things to think about. This page gives advise about finding suitable accommodation, day care centres, schools etc.
